Nirvana Collection has unveiled its newest luxury property, West Court Retreat, located in the picturesque Berkshire countryside. This 49-bedroom country house hotel has been thoughtfully converted from a former military officers’ residence, blending historic charm with modern luxury.
The hotel marks the first property under the Nirvana brand, which is also known for the Nirvana Spa in Sindelsham, as well as Gym 108 and the Nirvana Health Pool. Guests can enjoy a selection of well-appointed rooms, split between the Manor House and Officers’ Wing, some featuring roll-top baths and fireplaces, reflecting the property’s rich history and old-world charm.
Dining options include The Dining Room and The Glasshouse, a stunning Victorian-style glasshouse constructed on the site of the original estate’s greenhouse in the kitchen garden. For a more relaxed experience, the Devil’s Highway Bar offers a nod to the Roman road running beneath the manor.
The Grade-II listed building, dating back to the 1600s, has had a storied past, including serving as a military base during the 1940s and later as a residence for officers. It was acquired by the War Department in 1950 before being listed as ‘mess halls.’
