H World Group Limited has officially entered the Laotian market by signing four hotel management agreements, marking a key milestone in its Southeast Asia expansion strategy. The signing ceremony took place in Vientiane on May 29, reinforcing H World’s asset-light and internationalization approach.
The upcoming properties will be developed in partnership with Lao Kunpeng Industrial Co., Ltd., Yuting Hotel Investment Management Co., Ltd., and KP Construction Sole Co., Ltd., and are located in Vientiane and Luang Prabang — two of Laos’ most significant cities for tourism and business.
The four projects include:
Intercity Hotel Vientiane: Near Wattay International Airport and the Sanjiang Area, opening early 2026, offering modern amenities and connectivity.
Intercity Hotel Luang Prabang: Located in Luang Prabang’s historic center, blending local culture with brand design, expected in 2027.
JI Hotel Vientiane Mekong Riverside: Set along the Mekong River in downtown Vientiane, opening early 2026, marking JI Hotel’s first entry into Laos and second in Southeast Asia.
Orange Hotel Vientiane International Airport: Near the airport and Sanjiang Area, expected Q3 2026; this marks the Orange Hotel brand’s first project outside China.
Zhu Xiaogang, President of H World Asia Pacific, emphasized the importance of local management and strengthening regional operations. The investment partners praised H World’s brand reputation, operational capabilities, and digital ecosystem, anticipating an uplift in Laos’ hospitality standards.
With over 1.97 million international tourists entering Laos via the China-Laos Railway in 2024—a tripling of previous figures—Chinese visitors make up the majority, highlighting the growing potential of the market.
