Hilton has announced plans to open its first Tapestry Collection hotel in Heraklion, Crete. The ÉRA Hotel Heraklion is set to open in early 2026, following a franchise agreement with Green Properties – Melakis S.A.
Located in the heart of Heraklion, the hotel will be just a short walk from the Venetian Harbor and the Central Market. The property will rise from a full renovation of the former Mediterranean Hotel, a popular local landmark that served the community for over 40 years.
The new hotel will combine contemporary design with authentic Cretan elements. It will feature 56 guest rooms and suites, a rooftop garden restaurant with sweeping views of the city, nearby mountains, and the Aegean Sea, as well as a spa, fitness center, coffee shop, library, and a rooftop pool.
Andreas Koukas, Hilton’s Director of Development for Greece & Cyprus, shared his enthusiasm: “The signing of ÉRA Hotel Heraklion, Tapestry Collection by Hilton represents another exciting milestone in our expansion across Greece. We are pleased to work once again with Green Properties – Melakis S.A. to create a hotel that blends local character with modern comfort. ÉRA Hotel Heraklion will give travelers a truly authentic and memorable stay.”
The Tapestry Collection by Hilton is known for offering unique, locally inspired hotels that reflect the culture and spirit of their destinations. The new Heraklion hotel will continue that tradition while adding a new chapter to Crete’s hospitality scene.
