Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) is advancing its asset-enhancement programme with a significant refurbishment of Pan Pacific Perth, following the initiative launched in 2021 with Pan Pacific London. The Perth property’s 488 rooms, lobby, and Pacific Club Lounge now feature Western Australia-inspired design elements, including sustainable materials like repurposed denim, hand-pressed herbs, and recycled plastics. Its 2,500m² convention space—the largest in Perth—has also been upgraded with new LED screens and advanced audiovisual technology.
PPHG’s broader Australian portfolio is undergoing similar upgrades to meet evolving consumer expectations and brand standards. Parkroyal Melbourne Airport has refurbished its 276 guestrooms, conference facilities, and public areas, maintaining its unique direct access to both Melbourne’s international and domestic terminals via covered sky bridges. Meanwhile, Parkroyal Parramatta in Sydney has refreshed its 286 guestrooms and meeting spaces, continuing to reflect the local community vibe.
These renovations align with a positive outlook for Australia’s tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sectors. The Australian Trade and Investment Commission projects a 41% increase in international tourist arrivals between 2024 and 2028. The MICE industry is also expected to grow 11.5% by 2032, reaching US$42.8 billion, with Melbourne and Sydney remaining key hubs.
Choe Peng Sum, CEO of PPHG, emphasized Australia’s strategic importance to the group, highlighting the investment in Pan Pacific Perth as a commitment to supporting the city’s growing role as a West Coast business and events hub. The refurbishment aims to cater to increasing demand for premium travel and event experiences in the region.
