G Wellness Company Limited, a subsidiary of MP Trading Group, has announced a strategic partnership with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts to open the first internationally branded resort in Banjul, The Gambia. The project, set to debut under the globally recognized Ramada by Wyndham banner, marks a major milestone for the country’s growing hospitality industry.
Located in the vibrant coastal town of Kotu, the Ramada Resort by Wyndham Banjul will feature 65 tastefully designed guest rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, lounge bar, ocean-view pool, wellness spa, and meeting facilities—offering an upscale experience for both leisure and business travelers. The resort is just 22 kilometers from Banjul International Airport and 15 kilometers from the city center.
“This partnership with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts marks a significant step in our expansion journey,” said Manish Tilokani, Chairman of MP Trading Group. “Bringing the first internationally branded resort to The Gambia under the Ramada by Wyndham name reflects our vision to elevate hospitality standards in the region. We’re excited to welcome guests by mid-2026.”
The Gambia, known for its rich culture, natural beauty, and Atlantic coastline, has emerged as a rising destination in West Africa. In 2019, it attracted over 620,000 international visitors. The government continues to invest in infrastructure and tourism development, positioning the sector as a key pillar of national growth.
Govind Mundra, Head of Development – Middle East & Africa at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, added: “Our collaboration with G Wellness Company Limited strengthens Wyndham’s presence in West Africa and highlights our focus on entering high-potential markets. We value our relationship with Mr. Manish and his team, and we see strong opportunities for further expansion in the region.”
This landmark resort signals The Gambia’s increasing global appeal and underscores Wyndham’s commitment to supporting hospitality growth in emerging destinations.
