Hyatt Regency Belgrade Joins ‘Bike Friendly’ Network to Boost Tourism

by Angela

Hyatt Regency Belgrade has made sustainability history by becoming the first hotel outside Greece to receive the “Bike Friendly” certification—a distinction awarded by NatTour in partnership with the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN).

This milestone marks the official international expansion of the Greek-born certification program, underscoring the growing emphasis on sustainable mobility within the global hospitality sector.

The “Bike Friendly” label is granted to hotels, municipalities, travel agencies, and cycling tour operators that meet a set of rigorous standards for accommodating cyclists. These include providing secure bike storage, repair tools, route information, and cyclist-oriented services that make destinations more accessible for bike-based exploration.

The certification is a key component of NatTour’s mission to support alternative and eco-conscious tourism, including hiking, sports tourism, cycling, and digital nomad travel—contributing to broader goals of environmental preservation and sustainable tourism development.

Hyatt Regency Belgrade’s recognition signals a shift in travel priorities and sets a precedent for other international hotels to follow suit in offering cyclist-friendly amenities.
